Shangliu county is a large suburban county within Chengdu Metropolitan region. It is the core and main area of new town and the aviation hub of Chengdu metropolitan region. Chengdu Shuangliu international airport is located in the Shuangliu county's territory. It is the fourth largest airport in China, and the largest airport in western China with over 160 international and domestic airlines. With the integration of air traffic, railway, highway and water transportation, advanced transport network system has formed, turning Shuangliu into the window of Chengdu, the gateway to Sichuan Province which is historically known as the land of abundance.

In order to explore the new route of airport-linked economics in world airport cities under new situations and to speed up airport economics of Chengdu and Shuangliu, Summit Conference on Airport-Oriented Economies of World Airport Cities, Chengdu 2010 will take place in Chengdu/Shuangliu from October 22 - October 24. At that time, the capital executive officials and presidents from the world major airports, airport cities, aviation companies and the related industries will take part in the conference, sharing the experiences, discussing the growth trends of airport-linked economies of airport cities.
